The Annular Blowout Preventer (BOP) from QOF is a critical well control device used during drilling operations to ensure safety by providing a reliable seal around drill pipes, casing, or even irregularly shaped tools within the wellbore. Unlike ram-type BOPs, the annular BOP uses a doughnut-shaped elastomeric sealing element capable of conforming to a wide range of pipe sizes and shapes, delivering a secure, leak-proof seal in dynamic drilling environments.
With its versatile sealing capability, the annular BOP is suitable for use in combination with ram BOPs as part of a complete well control stack. Engineered with robust materials and a simple, maintenance-friendly design, the unit ensures long service life and ease of operation. It plays a vital role in sealing open holes or around tubulars during well control events, tripping, and pressure testing.
Compliant with API 16A and other international standards, this annular BOP ensures maximum operational safety and performance for both onshore and offshore rigs.
