The 22” Tricone Drill Bit is a robust rotary drilling tool engineered for high-demand drilling operations across oil & gas exploration, geothermal wells, large-diameter water wells, and mining. Its large diameter and durable construction make it suitable for penetrating deep and abrasive formations.

Featuring a three-cone (tricone) configuration, this bit utilizes either Milled Steel Teeth (MT) for soft to medium formations or Tungsten Carbide Inserts (TCI) for medium to ultra-hard formations. Each of the three rotating cones is precision-machined with multiple cutting rows and supported by advanced bearing systems, including open roller bearings, sealed roller bearings, and sealed journal bearings designed for high-load, deep-drilling applications.

The bit integrates seamlessly with most standard drilling equipment via a 7 5/8” API Regular (Reg) threaded pin, though variations can be adapted depending on rig specifications. It is equipped with three replaceable jet nozzles for efficient mud circulation, ensuring effective cooling, cleaning, and cuttings evacuation.

To enhance tool longevity, gauge protection is implemented using tungsten carbide inserts and hardfacing on both the gauge surfaces and shirttail area. The bit body is crafted from high-strength, heat-treated alloy steel with surface treatments for corrosion resistance and impact durability. Cutting elements are either hardfaced milled teeth or high-grade tungsten carbide inserts (TCI) securely press-fit into cone sockets.

Operationally, the bit supports rotary speeds ranging from 50–110 RPM (TCI) and 60–120 RPM (MT) and can tolerate high weights on bit — up to 120,000 lbs for TCI and 90,000 lbs for MT configurations.
