The Definite Purpose Air-over Fan Motors are purpose-built for continuous-duty performance in fan-driven systems, particularly where the motor operates in the airflow stream of the fan. Designed to accommodate the significant overhung loads typical of shaft-mounted fans, these motors provide the robust durability and long service life required in demanding HVAC and industrial ventilation applications.
Available from 1/4 to 10 horsepower, and in NEMA frame sizes 48 through 215T, these motors come with dual voltage capabilities (208-230/460V and 230/460V), offering operational flexibility across various installations. The 36-inch leads offer extended reach for easier connectivity in fan housings or duct-mounted applications.
A locked drive-end (DE) bearing ensures mounting versatility in both horizontal and vertical orientations, while oversized ball bearings provide the strength to support heavy radial and axial loads from directly coupled fan blades. These motors feature IP44 protection as standard, and can be upgraded to IP54 with an optional drain fitting kit to enhance ingress resistance in more humid or dusty environments.
Designed for continuous-duty air-over conditions, these motors ensure efficient cooling via external airflow and maintain optimal operating temperatures without requiring an external fan. Their rugged construction and engineering precision make them ideal for ventilation, exhaust, and cooling tower systems, as well as other fan-driven industrial applications.
