The GP100 Motor from ABB is the next-generation solution in NEMA cast-iron motors, purpose-built for severe-duty industrial environments. Developed with advanced finite element analysis, the GP100 series optimizes material distribution within the motor frame to withstand vibration, mechanical stress, and thermal expansion—ensuring reliable, long-term operation.

Available in power ratings from 1 to 200 hp (0.75 to 150 kW) and NEMA frame sizes 143 to 449, the GP100 series offers a broad spectrum of applications across industries. The motor supports multiple pole configurations (2, 4, 6, 8 poles) and voltage options of 230/460V, 460V, and 575V, accommodating varied power system requirements.

Each motor is housed in a robust cast iron frame with IP54 or IP55 protection, ensuring durability against dust, moisture, and physical impacts. Terminal boxes are constructed to match frame size and duty: aluminum for 140–250 frames, stamped steel for 280–400 frames, and cast iron for 440 frames. Zinc-plated hardware and epoxy-based paint finish provide high corrosion resistance.

The GP100 is inverter-duty rated per NEMA MG1 Part 31, capable of operating under 20:1 VT (variable torque) and 4:1 CT (constant torque) conditions. Class F insulation with Class B temperature rise ensures thermal stability, while motors in frames 143T–256T come with sealed, maintenance-free bearings.
