The IEEE 841XL Severe Duty Motor is purpose-built for continuous operation in the harshest industrial conditions, especially in the petroleum, chemical, and process industries. This series is fully compliant with and exceeds the requirements of IEEE Std. 841-2009, offering superior performance, long service life, and enhanced safety in corrosive and high-vibration environments.
Available in foot-mounted configurations (1–300 hp), C-Face designs (1–75 hp), and vertical P-base models (3–75 hp), this motor series covers NEMA frame sizes 143T through 449T. It features Super-E® NEMA Premium® efficiency for optimal energy savings, and a heavy-duty cast iron construction with an epoxy finish for superior corrosion resistance.
Every unit includes the Positive Lubrication System (PLS) to extend bearing life and reliability. The IP56 enclosure ensures ingress protection against water and dust, while stainless steel nameplates carry inverter-ready specifications conforming to NEMA MG1 Part 31.4.4.2, allowing seamless integration into VFD systems.
Safety features include Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D hazardous location certification, and motors are ABB Smart Sensor compatible for advanced condition monitoring. Each unit ships with a certified IEEE 841 test report, verifying it meets or exceeds all specified performance metrics.
