The Variable Speed Motor series is purpose-built for demanding industrial operations requiring precision speed regulation, robust construction, and adaptability to advanced drive technologies. Available in shaft heights from 710 mm to 2500 mm, these motors are fabricated with a modular welded steel frame, supporting both horizontal and vertical orientations depending on application requirements.
Featuring rotor configurations with either solid salient poles or laminated poles wound using rectangular copper wire, these motors offer high operational efficiency, lower losses, and strong torque performance at variable speeds. Depending on the process requirements, bearing supports can be configured as flange- or pedestal-mounted to ensure mechanical reliability under high-load conditions.
The motors support multiple fixed-speed starting methods including Direct-on-Line, reactor, autotransformer, capacitor, Load Commutated Inverter (LCI), and reactor-capacitor. For full variable speed operation, they are fully compatible with LCI, Cycloconverter, and Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) systems, making them ideal for heavy industrial processes where torque and speed need fine-tuned control.
Excitation systems are configurable as AC or DC, and available in brushed or brushless formats with slip ring integration when required. Insulation is handled via the Micadur Compact Industry system—renowned for superior dielectric performance, excellent thermal management, and enhanced reliability under continuous operation.
