The MAN MGT 6000 is a robust and versatile industrial gas turbine engineered for high-efficiency power generation in simple or combined cycle configurations. Manufactured in 2015, this single-shaft turbine delivers up to 60 MW of electrical output in simple cycle mode, and up to 110 MW when integrated into a combined cycle plant with heat recovery systems.
Fuel-flexible and optimized for natural gas, the MGT 6000 can also operate on liquid fuels such as diesel or kerosene when needed. Its axial-flow compressor and two-stage axial turbine design maximize thermal efficiency and enable rapid response to varying load conditions. In simple cycle mode, the turbine achieves approximately 36–38% efficiency, while combined cycle operation can boost system efficiency up to 60%.
The unit features a dry low emissions (DLE) combustion system for compliance with strict NOx and CO regulations. Integrated digital controls offer remote monitoring, auto start/stop, and real-time performance optimization. With a rapid start-up time of 10–15 minutes and broad ambient temperature range (−30°C to 50°C), the MGT 6000 is ideally suited for grid-connected utilities, CHP plants, and industrial facilities demanding high efficiency, fast load response, and low operational downtime.
