5" API Drill Pipe – S-135 Grade, Range 2
This 5-inch OD API-grade drill pipe is engineered for rugged oilfield drilling applications, particularly where high tensile and yield strength are required. Constructed from S-135 grade steel (with alternatives such as E-75, X-95, and G-105), it delivers up to 135,000 psi tensile strength and 120,000 psi yield strength. The pipe features an Internal-External Upset (IEU) or Internal Upset (IU) to strengthen connection ends. Threaded with standard API Regular (REG) or NC50 connections—proprietary threads also available on request—it is fitted with tool joints approximately 6 5/8" OD and 24–30 inches long. Wall thickness and weight vary by specification, typically from 0.362" to 0.500", with nominal pipe weight ranging from 19.50 to 25.60 lb/ft. Drift diameter is no less than 4.276". Manufactured to API 5DP and API Spec 7-1 standards, each pipe undergoes stringent NDT inspections including Ultrasonic Testing, EMI, and MPI on tool joints. Surface finishes include phosphated or dry-threaded ends, with optional hardbanding applied to extend wear life in high-friction drilling environments.
