The CATERPILLAR XGC1900 Gas Power Module, introduced in 2022, is a robust and high-output natural gas generator designed for industrial, utility, and distributed generation applications. At its core is the Caterpillar G3520C V12 engine, a 4-stroke, turbocharged, and intercooled powerhouse displacing 58.9 liters, engineered for durability and high performance.
This unit delivers 1,900 kW (2,550 HP) of prime power and up to 2,100 kW (2,820 HP) on standby, operating at 1800 RPM and 60 Hz. The engine utilizes an advanced electronic governor and a closed-loop water cooling system, ensuring operational reliability even under demanding conditions.
Fuelled by natural gas, the module is highly fuel-efficient with a thermal efficiency of 41–42%. Daily fuel consumption is approximately 1,860–1,900 m³/day at full load. The emissions profile is optimized via a factory-integrated three-way catalyst (TWC) and after-treatment system, fully compliant with EPA Tier 4 and EU Stage V standards.
The module includes a Caterpillar MARINE or Open Drip-Proof (ODP) alternator, depending on setup, supporting voltages of 400V, 480V, 600V, and more. Safety features include overload, thermal, and short-circuit protection, along with a full-flow oil filtration system and 190-liter oil capacity, with change intervals every 500 hours.
