ALSTOM MS9001E Gas Turbine Generator – 100 MW, 50 Hz, Multi-Fuel with Alternator

The ALSTOM MS9001E is a high-performance, heavy-duty gas turbine generator system engineered for utility-scale and industrial power generation. Manufactured in December 1988 and installed at Kot Addu, Pakistan, this unit features a 100 MW gas turbine operating at 50 Hz with the capability for multi-fuel combustion, including liquid and gaseous fuels.

The turbine is coupled with an ALSTOM T229-320 synchronous generator rated at 130 MVA apparent power, 11,500 V output voltage, and 6,527 A rated current. It includes indirect air-cooled stator windings and direct air-cooled rotor windings with Class F insulation. The rotating diodes exciter TKJ 86.15 delivers 319 kW excitation power at 151 V and 2110 A, ensuring stable performance under continuous operation.

The complete package includes turbine, gearbox, generator, exciter, HRSG, control systems, transformers, and balance of plant (BOP). The system is currently de-synchronized and preserved, with 149,365 operating hours and 8,958 starts. It underwent major uprating and overhaul in Nov–Dec 2011. Inspection reports are available.
