Aeroderivative Gas Turbine – LM2500 Mobile Power Unit

This mobile gas turbine package is powered by the proven LM2500 aeroderivative engine, designed to deliver approximately 35–36 MW of power at ISO conditions. Featuring dual-fuel capability (natural gas and liquid fuels like diesel or Jet A1), it supports operational flexibility across various field conditions.

Operating at 3,600 RPM for 60 Hz or 3,000 RPM for 50 Hz via a reduction gearbox, the unit achieves a compression ratio of 18:1 and an exhaust temperature between 500–540°C. The turbine system operates with an efficiency of ~37–40% in simple cycle mode and includes a dry low NOx (DLN) combustion system limiting emissions to ≤25 ppm on natural gas.

Fuel consumption rates are approximately 9,000 Nm³/h for natural gas and 8,200 kg/h for liquid fuels at full load. Natural gas pressure requirements range between 350–650 psi (24–45 bar). The system is cooled via an air-cooled mechanism and uses synthetic turbine oil (ISO VG 46) in a pressurized lubrication system with a total oil capacity of ~1,500 liters.

The turbine is paired with a brushless AC synchronous generator, featuring optional black start capability. Controlled by GE’s Mark VIe or VI+ digital automation system, the unit ensures high reliability, monitoring, and diagnostics.

Housed in a trailer-mounted configuration, the complete unit weighs approximately 100,000 kg and is transportable by road, rail, or military cargo aircraft such as the C-5 or Antonov 124. Typical dimensions range from 13–15 meters in length, 3 meters in width, and 4.2 meters in height.
