Description

JENBACHER J624 NL Gas Engine – 2.3 MW, 50 Hz, CHP-Optimized - 2018

The JENBACHER J624 NL is a high-performance, lean-burn gas engine built for continuous power generation and combined heat and power (CHP) applications. Manufactured in 2018, this inline 6-cylinder engine is optimized for natural gas but can also operate on biogas or other gaseous fuels. It provides a nominal electrical output of 2,000 kW (2 MW), with the ability to reach 2,300 kW under optimal load and temperature conditions.

Featuring a water-cooled, closed-loop cooling system, the J624 NL ensures stable and efficient operation across a broad ambient temperature range from -5°C to 45°C. Its electrical efficiency reaches approximately 42%, and when integrated into a CHP configuration, the overall system efficiency can exceed 90%, making it ideal for industrial processes or district heating applications.

The engine is designed with low NOx emissions under 250 mg/Nm³ and CO emissions under 100 mg/Nm³, meeting strict global environmental standards. Its fast start-up time (10–15 minutes) and agile load-following capabilities make it an excellent choice for grid support, backup power, and decentralized energy projects.
