This SS plate is bonded to a 5mm thick PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) layer, which is recessed into a 10mm thick carbon steel (CS) backing plate. This robust design minimizes friction and allows for controlled thermal expansion and contraction of the pipeline, preventing stress and potential damage.
