It consists of a 5mm thick PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) layer bonded to 10mm thick carbon steel (CS) backing plates, both top and bottom. The PTFE provides a low coefficient of friction, minimizing stress on the pipe and supporting structure during movement.
