Eccentric reducers are designed with one side aligned, which is beneficial for preventing air or vapor accumulation in pump suction lines or liquid accumulation in steam or gas lines. The flat side on the eccentric reducer needs to be installed on the top of the pipe to prevent accumulation of air or vapor. It is also important to install the flat side on the bottom of the pipe to prevent the liquid from accumulating.
