The BZSV HTSJ Series Water Hammer Relief Valve is an essential safety device designed to protect long-distance oil and fluid transport pipelines from pressure surges caused by events such as sudden valve closures, pump stops, or pigging disruptions. These rapid flow interruptions can generate destructive water hammer effects, leading to localized overpressure, vibration, or even pipeline rupture.
This relief valve operates automatically—without external power—by detecting surge pressures using its internal sensing system. When the pressure in the pipeline rises rapidly and reaches the set water hammer threshold, the valve instantly opens, allowing a portion of the fluid to be diverted to a pressure relief tank. By increasing the volume of fluid in the system and absorbing excess pressure, it dissipates the energy of the water hammer wave and minimizes its impact on the system.
Its sensitive actuation mechanism allows the valve to track pressure fluctuations accurately, ensuring timely opening and re-closing once safe levels are restored. The HTSJ valve provides a robust and reliable safety mechanism for petrochemical, oil, and refined product pipeline systems.
