Vortex Flowmeter Model 72F – Flanged, Volumetric & Mass Flow

The Model 72F Vortex Flowmeter utilizes the vortex shedding measurement principle to deliver highly accurate flow readings for a wide range of fluids, including liquids, gases, and steam. Designed for industrial applications requiring reliability and precision, the 72F supports both volumetric and mass flow measurement, with built-in temperature compensation and optional pressure sensors.

This flowmeter is available in sizes ranging from DN15 to DN300 (½" to 12"), with flanged process connections compatible with ASME, DIN, or JIS standards depending on model configuration. The meter operates effectively over a velocity range of 0.3 to 10 m/s for liquids and 3 to 70 m/s for gases or steam.

Accuracy is maintained at ±0.75% of reading for liquids and ±1.0% for gases and steam, with a repeatability of ±0.2% and a turndown ratio up to 30:1. The sensor supports extreme process conditions, functioning at pressures up to 100 bar (1,450 psi) and sensor temperatures from -200°C to +400°C, with ambient operation from -40°C to +70°C.

Built with a stainless steel AISI 316L sensor body and wetted parts, the 72F is also available in Hastelloy, Duplex, and optional PTFE linings for corrosive media. Seals can be selected from Viton, PTFE, or EPDM based on compatibility.

Electronics are modular and separable from the sensor, simplifying maintenance and upgrades. An integrated RTD allows for temperature measurement, and a local display with optical buttons offers easy, menu-driven operation. Outputs comply with FOUNDATION Fieldbus ITK 4.5.1, and the unit meets rigorous certification standards including ATEX, FM, CSA, IECEx, and SIL 2/3 according to IEC 61508.
